La Liga, Serie A, Ligue 1 and Bundesliga break summer transfer records
Europe’s best leagues have smashed on transfer records this summer to strike back at Premier League dominance.
Premier League move spending has surged in the last few years and strike #1.41bn this summer, according to Deloitte figures – just #20m shy of the record collection in 2017.
That continuing injection of money seems to have fostered English clubs’ success in Europe, reaching an unprecedented sweep of finalists from the Europa League and Champions League final year.
But the remaining best four leagues of Europe have splashed amounts to strengthen defences along with firepower to challenge England’s dominance in the elite level – together along with three lifts that dwarf people on home soil.
La Liga blasted the 10-figure brink for the first time ever with #1.24bn invested – leapfrogging Serie A (#1.06bn) since Europe’s second-biggest spenders – followed by Bundesliga (#670m) and Ligue 1 (#605m).

Summer spending: #1.24bn (+82 per cent)
Spending club: Real Madrid
Even Though the much-anticipated yield of Neymar into Spain failed to materialise, La Liga clubs still punched heaviest in the struggle to recover Europe, with Real Madrid prising Eden Hazard from Chelsea for #130m along with registering Luka Jovic, Eder Militao, Ferland Mendy and Rodrygo.

Italy recorded a low 17 per cent increase but top incomings contained Aaron Ramsey, Romelu Lukaku, Danilo, Matthijs de Ligt, Adrien Rabiot and Diego Godin – together with the latter trio on transfers.
Serie A clubs decreased spending prices recruiting Matteo Darmian, Chris Smalling, Davide Zappacosta, Alexis Sanchez, Fernando Llorente and Henrikh Mkhitaryan from the Premier League on deals.
While Pedro Neto and also Bruno Jordao snapped from Braga emerging talents such as Joao Cancelo and Moise Kean travelled from the opposite direction – having completed loan periods in Lazio.

Paris Saint-Germain signed Idrissa Gueye from Everton for #29m and snapped up Ander Herrera from Manchester United on a free, in addition to decoding Abdou Diallo, Pablo Sarabia and Keylor Navas from external France.
Noteworthy Bundesliga incomings comprised Joachim Anderson, Wissam Ben Yedder, Abdou Diallo, Gelson Martins along with Kasper Dolberg – together with former Gunner Jeff Reine-Adelaide shifting .
